Pipercross redevelop their Venom intake

September 7th, 2009 Posted in Pipercross

As anyone with an older brother will appreciate, when you were growing up as a child you always got your older sibling’s hand me downs.  Well the Pipercross Venom was no different, always playing second-fiddle to it’s Viper big brother.  When the Viper had carbon fibre, the Venom had alloy.  The Viper has 300+ applications, the Venom is only a universal system.  You get the point.

Well this is set to change with the news that Pipercross have gone back to the drawing board and redeveloped the Venom from scratch (with a bit of help from a leading WTCC team).

By using a a new double conical air filter, surface area is increased by over 40% when compared to a standard shaped cone which should translate into much more airflow than competitors products plus longer service intervals!

“…all brackets, adapters, instructions, all in the box and all designed specifically for your car.  Magic.”

Designed around a high quality polypropylene chassis and heat shield which provides the Venom with an extremely light weight yet durable system. The polypropylene also offers excellent heat protective qualities ensuring the air entering your engine is at its coolest.

Other features include:

  • Large 3″ cold air feed pipe (upgradable to 4″)
  • Removable, cleanable replacement filter element

What makes this all-new Venom really exciting is that it’s due to be released in kit form for specific vehicles.  That means all brackets, adapters, instructions, all in the box and all designed specifically for your car.  Magic.

A handful of cars are due for imminent completion with many more to follow. The first wave of kits will include:

  • Renault Clio 172 / 182
  • Honda Civic Type-R EP3
  • VW Golf Mk4 1.8 Turbo
  • Vauxhall Astra Mk4 / Mk5
